OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gov. Mary Fallin has signed a bill that places new restrictions on doctors who prescribe abortion inducing drugs.

Fallin signed 11 bills on Tuesday, including one requiring physicians who prescribe RU-486 — or mifepristone — to be physically present when the drug is first provided to the patient.

The bill also specifies who can sue an abortion provider for failing to comply with the new law. It makes a violation of the law a felony and allows the patient, her family, a district attorney or the state attorney general to sue the doctor.

Other bills signed by Fallin on Tuesday deal with regulations for sports agents, street improvement districts, judicial pay raises and insurance fraud.
